It all starts with the horse. My sister, her best friend & I started riding lessons in Scholls, OR in the late 1970’s. I was hooked. One of those school horses became my first equine love. Luckily, I’ve enjoyed the constant companionship of at least one equine since.
The animal lover in me wanted to be a veterinarian growing up. I worked for many vets in high school and college and quickly learned that it’s a thankless job. That’s also about the time I took Organic Chemistry and found another passion. A Master’s degree and 12.5 years as a Medicinal Chemist in the pharmaceutical industry effectively convinced me that nature has all that we need to heal ourselves. My career morphed into Analytical Chemistry where I learned of the vast properties of the cannabis plant. Numerous testimonials and my own topical pain relief sparked my curiosity into the use on equines. With a farrier’s help and a great deal of recipe research, we have developed a product line that we’re all proud of. And the horses love!! Keeping it simple and natural – I only wish I had the capacity to use my chemistry knowledge to treat the equines in my past….Moving freely forward!
